Last week I went to the zoo in Kolkata with the pure intention of clicking some cool pictures of the inhabitants there. Other than the abundant food packets/plastics scattered there damaging the ecosystem seriously, the overcast sky deprived me from taking better photos! No more story to narrate about my brief walk inside the zoo, so I'm posting the photographs below without anymore introductory Bla-bLa and people who are interested to know more about our Kolkata Zoo can visit the Zoo Website: http://www.kolkatazoo.in

I love these pictures. They must have improved the habitat for many of these animals significantly, because the last time I visited the Alipore Zoo, I was most depressed to see the soulless tiny concrete cages. At first I was saddened to see the tiny link mesh enclosures of the cages- but then I saw that they were necessary because people were throwing pebbles and toffees at the resting animals to incite a response. I got into a verbal spat with them- but to no avail. No employees helped. Dismal attitudes. But great pictures here- spread these around to show that these imprisoned animals have a life and each has its beauty and personality. God bless.
Docy don't feel happy by seeing my photos here coz honestly speaking they are not displaying the real harsh conditions there! I was so disheartened to see people throwing edible (!!??!!) things into the enclosure... so what was the security for them?? Moreover it was so painful to see royal bengal tiger enclosed in a tiny cell surrounded by hundreds of crazy freaks shouting at him! And the worst thing, which I had already written in the post... numerous garbage scattered in the area to ruin the ecosystem!!! They don't have right to keep that zoo running with such indifference :(
i hate creepy kolkata people n their attitude towards environment....they think there is no other place other than kolkata exist.....why would they care about those animals in zoo....kolkata is the whole universe for them....feel sad for them
